Long-Distance Move

Fix Price Move is a professional long distance Mover

A long distance move is a move that is greater than 100-miles from the origin and/or the move crosses a state line. Two factors determine the major portion of the cost of your move. They are the distance you are moving and the weight of your shipment.

Fix Price Move is able to provide competitive rates because we do something called consolidated shipping. Instead of sending a moving truck across the country with only your shipment on board, we consolidate your shipment with other customers shipments. This method of shipping allows you to receive a highly discounted rate on long distance moves or International moving services.

We offer a Unique Long Distance Service

If you need a straight delivery from your origin in California or in the bay area (san Francisco, San Jose).Fix Price Move has the ability and the caliber of operation to perform an exclusive delivery to any destination in the U.S. Please consult our relocation specialist to discuss in detail about our long distance exclusive move option.

Most of us probably don't know the exact total weight of our belongings. In order to determine an approximate weight of your shipment, you can use our table below. When you fill out our form or call Fix Price Move, we will give you our rates for various weights for budgeting purposes. On the day of the move, we welcome you to join us at a government regulated weigh station while we weigh the truck with and without your shipment fully loaded. The difference between those two weights is the weight of your shipment.

Moving Charges

Everyone has heard of movers extra charges in long-distance or cross-country moves. These are the charges for things that we normally may not think twice about during daily life that can affect your moving team as far as time or physical effort required for the move.

Here at Fix Price Move, we do our best to anticipate all charges related to your move, and properly prepare you for these charges. In all cases, we do our best to work within your budget to meet your moving needs.

Here are the Most Common Charges:

  1. Stairs

    - there is a per-flight charge for each flight of stairs. This charge is applied on both pick-up and delivery.

  2. Elevator

    - there is a one-time fee for elevator use, regardless of number of floors passed, however this charge can be applied both on pick-up and delivery.

  3. Long Carry

    - this charge is applied when, for any reason, the truck cannot park within 50-feet of your ENTRANCE DOOR. The entrance door can be the front door, back door, Garage, etc. This is because of the extra time and labor required in transporting your items to our truck.

  4. Shuttle Charge

    - this is the single-most difficult charge to address, simply because in most of our moves, we are unaware of it until the last minute. The shuttle charge is applied when, for any reason, the truck cannot park within a reasonable carrying distance to your home. An example would be a gated community, or downtown Manhattan, NY. The driver is always forced to rent a smaller truck, transfer your goods to the truck, and then make the delivery. the shuttle charge reflects the costs necessary to cover the extra effort required for delivery.

  5. Packing Materials

    - If any additional packing is necessary at pick-up (for example, proper packing for a mattress or television), and we use materials off of our truck, then you are charged for the individual materials used. Please visit our packing page for packing materials pricelists.
